I like to think I'm going to help effect change in the world, though my means to that end are more local than lofty.

I try to find purpose or meaning in everything that I do. I try to live fully, to be present, to keep open my mind and my heart. I try to listen fully when someone speaks to me, or when I'm speaking to myself. (Silently, of course.)

But, I am human, after all. Sometimes it works, and sometimes, not so much.

There are times when I feel an organic connection between my body and my mind, and I've found that leads to an equally organic connection between myself and the rest of the world. And there are times when the connection feels so paper thin that I question whether I can even strengthen it again.

So, the question is, how can I maintain that connection? I've discovered (and I'm discovering) that there are some really wonderful benefits to a regular practice of relaxation, meditation, compassion, contemplation, and yoga.

And play.

Can we change the world simply by changing ourselves? I hope so…
